A giant step forward for orca whales Great news for orca whales! SeaWorld announced Thursday morning it will phase out its theatrical orca shows at all three of its U.S. parks. The company will also stop the breeding of captive orcas, and have no orcas at any new parks it plans to open around the world. SeaWorld has also agreed to collaborate with The Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International in our advocacy campaigns against commercial whaling, sealing, shark finning, and other cruelties, as well as redouble its efforts to conduct rescue and rehabilitation for a wide variety of marine creatures in distress. Bonnes nouvelles pour les orques!

SeaWorld l'a annoncé jeudi matin : il sera progressivement mis fin à ses spectacles d'orques dans ses trois parcs américains. La société va également arrêter la reproduction des épaulards en captivité, et plus aucun épaulards n'intègrera un parc qu'elle envisage d'ouvrir et ce, dans le monde entier.

SeaWorld a également accepté de collaborer avec la Humane Society International États-Unis et la Humane Society dans nos campagnes de sensibilisation contre la chasse commerciale, d'étanchéité, ailerons de requins, et autres cruautés, ainsi que redoubler d'efforts pour mener des secours et la réhabilitation pour une grande variété des créatures marines en détresse.
